The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Borno State Chapter, has extended warm Eid al Kabir greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Borno State and across Nigeria, urging citizens to embrace peace, unity, compassion, and mutual understanding during the festive season.

In a goodwill message dated May 26, 2026, the Chairman of CAN in Borno State, Most Rev. Dr. John Bogna Bakeni, congratulated Muslims on the occasion of the Eid al Kabir celebration and prayed for divine blessings upon the faithful.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists by the CAN Chairman, Most Rev. Dr. John Bogna Bakeni, who called on residents to continue promoting justice, peaceful coexistence, and harmony among people of different faiths and backgrounds.

“May Allah accept your prayers and supplications and reward your sacrifices,” the statement read. “As we share and exchange gifts during this festive period, let us remember the poor and the less privileged within our communities.”

The CAN Chairman acknowledged that this year’s celebration comes at a difficult time marked by economic hardship, insecurity, rising cost of living, and environmental challenges affecting many families across the country.

He therefore urged citizens to use the occasion to seek the face of God, strengthen love for one another, and work collectively toward building a peaceful and stable society.

Most Rev. Bakeni also emphasized the need to reject violence and maintain calm throughout the Sallah celebrations, stressing that peace remains essential for the development and progress of Borno State and the nation at large.

He concluded by wishing Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration.

“Eid Mubarak to you all,” he stated.
