BUNI RALLIES PRAYERS FOR NIGERIA

Borno State Government

Governor Mai Mala Buni has called on Nigerians to intensify prayers for the nation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and leaders at all levels, stressing that peace remains the bedrock of development.

Speaking at a high-level meeting with over 800 Chief Imams across Yobe State, Buni warned against forces threatening national stability, urging unity and spiritual support to safeguard the country.

He recalled the painful era of Boko Haram insurgency, noting that lives were lost, millions displaced, and properties destroyed, insisting Nigeria must not relapse into such dark times.

“There can be no meaningful development without peace. We must support our leaders and pray for Nigeria to remain united and prosperous,” he said.

The Governor emphasized Nigeria’s strategic position as Africa’s most populous nation, adding that the continent looks up to the country for stability.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Babagana Malam Kyari, said the gathering was aimed at mobilizing clerics to champion prayers for national peace and leadership guidance.

The Imams, in their response, pledged to spread messages of unity and peaceful coexistence, while intensifying prayers for Nigeria and its leadership.

The meeting marks the first phase of a broader engagement, with Christian leaders expected to participate in the next round.
