Katsina State Border Demarcation Committee for newly created Districts on Friday 24/4/25 visited Durbi Ta Kusheyi in Mani Local Government area.
The visit was to farmiliarise with the area and acertain its proximity considering the creation of additional District within the LGA
On arrival, the Committee led by its Chairman Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana was received by the Village Head Alhaji Shasuddeen Yusuf who conducted the Committee round the historic area.
The Committee was conducted round where the Palace of an ancient ruler ‘Katsi’ which metermophose to now Katsina, Dutsen Bataretare which served as shrine for the then settlers, a tomp of one of the rulers among others.
Important discussions related to the historical background of the area were observed between the Chairman, other members of the Committee and the Village Head of Durbi Ta Kusheyi.
The Village Head Alhaji Shasuddeen Yusuf on behalf of Durbi Ta Kusheyi community expressed gratitude to the state government and the Katsina Emirate Council for creating additional Districts. This according to him will make people more closer to the government and the Traditional Institutions.
Other members of the Committee include representative of Katsina and Dàura Emirate Councils Danwairen KatsinaDr. Sada Salisu Rumah and Galadiman Dàura Alhaji Ahmad Diddiri Ahmad.
Others are representatives of the Mininistries of Justice, Information/Home Affairs and Culture, Lands and Surveys, Governor’s Office and Chairman of Mani Local Government Area Hon. Dr. Yunusa Bagiwa representing ALGON.
