A Little Boy’s Big Admiration: Adnan Finally Meets His Favourite Governor

Katsina State Government

By Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed

Sometimes, the most memorable moments in leadership come through simple acts of kindness and genuine human connections. Such was the heartwarming encounter between my Principal, Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, and young Adnan Abubakar Ammani, during the Governor’s visit to Funtua for the Tinubu–Dikko 2027 campaign rally.

At just 9 or 10 years old, Adnan has developed a special admiration for Governor Radda. He often expresses it by singing songs celebrating the Governor, particularly the popular Dansoja song with the familiar words, “Dikko Radda, you’re welcome!”

For Adnan, those words represent his imagined welcome to Governor Radda in Funtua. His innocent admiration had grown into a simple childhood wish: to meet the Governor in person.

Recognising how much his son admired the Governor, his father and my dear friend, Alhaji Babawo Abubakar Ammani, thoughtfully seized an opportunity to make that wish come true.

On the night of 1st November, while Governor Radda was attending to official files, Alhaji Babawo brought his son Adnan, to meet him.

In a heartwarming gesture, Governor Radda immediately paused his official work, warmly welcomed the young boy and exchanged greetings with him. His father introduced Adnan and explained his admiration for the Governor and his habit of singing songs celebrating him.

For Adnan, it was a special moment: finally meeting in person the leader whose name he had so often celebrated in his childhood songs.

A Father’s Thoughtfulness, A Son’s Lasting Memory

My dear friend, Alhaji Babawo Abubakar Ammani, your thoughtful gesture reflects the beautiful joy of fatherhood. You recognised what makes your young son happy and turned his innocent admiration into a memorable personal experience.

Beyond the meeting itself, you gave Adnan a precious childhood memory he will cherish for years to come.

May Almighty Allah continue to bless you, protect Adnan and his siblings, and grant them sound health, wisdom and a bright future.

The encounter also reminds us that leadership goes beyond official responsibilities. It is reflected in humility, accessibility and the willingness to make people feel valued, regardless of age or status.

For a father, it was the fulfilment of a thoughtful wish. For Adnan, it was a childhood dream come true.

A proud father, a happy little boy and a beautiful memory to cherish.

After singing “Dikko Radda, you’re welcome!” countless times, Adnan finally met his favourite Governor in person.
