2027: We Won’t Rig, But We Won’t Be Rigged Out — Bala Mohammed

Borno State Government

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has declared that the Allied People’s Movement (APM) will not engage in electoral malpractice ahead of the 2027 general elections, but will firmly resist any attempt to rig the party out of victory.

Speaking on Thursday at the Bauchi Government House during the affirmation of candidates for various elective positions in the state, Mohammed said the party is committed to fair competition while remaining fully prepared for political battles.

According to him, the APM will not underestimate its opponents, insisting that every contender—regardless of age or experience—will be taken seriously.

“We are not going to underestimate our competitors. Even if a child born today is a candidate, I am going to deal with him like a grown-up person,” the governor said.

He stressed that while the party would not encourage or participate in electoral manipulation, it would equally not tolerate being “rigged out” of victory in any form.

Mohammed’s remarks come as political activities gradually intensify across the country ahead of the 2027 elections, with parties positioning themselves for a fiercely contested race.
