Troops Sweep Yobe Communities in Fresh Anti-Insurgency Push

Borno State Government

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intensified clearance operations across communities in Yobe State, sustaining pressure on insurgent elements in a renewed military push to secure the North-East.

The latest operation, carried out on April 17 in Bursari Local Government Area, saw a formidable battle group of 178 personnel, backed by combat and support vehicles, advance through multiple settlements in a coordinated show of force.

Acting on directives from the Commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade, the troops swept through Karaga Waro, Kachallari, Moduri, Lewanti and surrounding communities—areas once vulnerable to insurgent incursions.

Security sources disclosed that residents were found going about their daily routines undisturbed, with no signs of hostile activity recorded throughout the operation—an indication, they say, of growing stability in the region.

Military authorities described the mission as part of sustained “clearance and domination” efforts aimed at denying insurgents any room to regroup, while consolidating gains in previously liberated areas.

The ongoing offensive under Operation Hadin Kai is also focused on restoring normal life, with troops maintaining a visible presence to reassure communities and safeguard socio-economic activities.

As the campaign presses on, the military insists it will continue to tighten the noose on remaining insurgent cells, signaling that the fight to secure Nigeria’s North-East is far from over—but steadily advancing.
