Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have intensified their offensive in the North-East, neutralising four Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters and capturing one alive during a daring clearance operation in the notorious Timbuktu Triangle.
The encounter occurred around 1:15 p.m. on May 5, when forces under Brigade Group I (25 Brigade Guards/19 Battalion) engaged the terrorists in the Multe area, triggering a fierce gun battle.
Military sources confirmed that four insurgents were killed in the firefight, while one suspect was apprehended.
In the aftermath, troops recovered a cache of weapons and logistics, including three AK-47 rifles, 50 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, five magazines, nine bicycles, and two motorcycles believed to have been used by the terrorists.
The operation did not stop there. Troops pushed further to clear multiple insurgent enclaves in Dusu, Multe, and Hawan Burum, tightening their grip on the troubled axis and consolidating recent gains.
All recovered items, along with the captured suspect, have been moved to the Headquarters of the 25 Brigade for further investigation and necessary action.
The latest success underscores renewed military momentum in dismantling terrorist strongholds across the Timbuktu Triangle.
