Troops of 222 Battalion, in collaboration with local vigilantes, have conducted a fighting patrol to Bazamri Village in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State following intelligence reports of suspected terrorist activity.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was carried out at about 11:30 a.m. on June 23 after reports indicated a possible convergence of suspected ISWAP terrorists in the area.
The sources said the troops, operating within Sector 1 Area of Responsibility, swiftly mobilised to the location to verify the intelligence and deny the terrorists freedom of action.
According to the sources, the troops conducted a thorough search and patrol of the area but did not discover any significant terrorist presence or activity.
The sources added that no contact was made with suspected terrorists during the operation.
They noted that the patrol formed part of ongoing proactive measures aimed at disrupting terrorist movements, gathering intelligence and maintaining security dominance across communities in Konduga and other parts of Borno State.
