Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have dealt a fresh blow to terrorist logistics networks in Borno State, arresting a suspected ISWAP/JAS supplier and intercepting a large cache of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) cleverly concealed in a tricycle.
Security sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended at about 9:10 a.m. on April 21 by troops of the 159 Battalion at a checkpoint within Sector 2 Area of Responsibility.
In a bid to beat security checks, the suspect reportedly hid the fuel in 15 sacks, disguising them with bags of sachet water. However, vigilant troops uncovered the plot, foiling what authorities believe was a supply run to insurgent-held areas.
Preliminary findings indicate the consignment was headed for Kanama and surrounding communities near Dikwa and Bultuwa—locations long associated with terrorist activity.
Recovered items include a mobile phone and ₦34,950, while the suspect remains in military custody pending further investigation.
Military sources say the operation underscores intensified efforts to choke off supply lines and cripple insurgents by denying them access to vital resources across the North-East.
