President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has revealed that his recent spiritual journey to Makkah was not only an opportunity to perform Umrah but also a moment to renew his commitment to serving Nigerians, seeking divine wisdom, strength and resilience.
The President made the revelation while recounting his experience after being granted the rare privilege of entering the inner chambers of the Holy Kaaba in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, during his lesser Hajj pilgrimage.
Tinubu disclosed that his major prayer was for Allah to grant him the wisdom, strength and resilience required to continue serving the people, expressing confidence that his supplication had been answered.
According to him, he made a similar request to Allah ahead of the 2023 general elections, adding that he returned to Makkah this time not only to seek divine blessings but also to express gratitude for the successful completion of his Umrah.
“I asked for wisdom and resilience to continue to serve the people, and I know that has been granted. Prior to the 2023 elections, I did the same thing.
“I asked Allah to bless my Umrah, and He did, and I came back to thank Him,” the President said.
His remarks offered a glimpse into the personal spiritual reflections behind his pilgrimage, particularly his prayers for divine guidance in carrying out the responsibilities of leadership.
The rare opportunity to enter the inner chambers of the Holy Kaaba, one of Islam’s most sacred sites, added a significant dimension to the President’s visit, which he described in terms of supplication, fulfilment and gratitude to Almighty Allah.
