Sowore Threatens Aso Rock Protest Over Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren

Borno State Government

Human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has threatened to mobilise protesters to occupy the Presidential Villa if the abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State are not rescued promptly.

In a post on X on Sunday, Sowore expressed outrage over the abduction and called on President Bola Tinubu and the nation’s security chiefs to take urgent action to secure the children’s release.

He warned that continued inaction could trigger mass protests at Aso Rock, insisting that the government must demonstrate greater commitment to protecting citizens and tackling insecurity.

Sowore’s remarks add to growing public pressure on security agencies as concerns mount over the safety of the abducted pupils and the persistent threat of kidnappings across the country.

The activist urged authorities to act swiftly, stressing that the lives of the children must remain a top national priority.
