The Southern Borno Concerned Citizens Forum (SBCC) has commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) for organising an appreciation tour across Southern Borno following the emergence of Hon. Ali Abdullahi Isa as the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate.

In a statement signed by its National Chairman, Hon. Bulama Sawa, the Forum described the tour led by APC Governorship Candidate, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, and his running mate, Hon. Ali Abdullahi Isa, as “a remarkable homecoming that united the people of Southern Borno in appreciation to the APC for recognising one of their finest sons.”

The delegation received receptions in the five Emirates and four Local Government Areas visited during the tour. Traditional rulers, political leaders, elders, youths, women, students and party faithful turned out in their thousands to welcome the team and reaffirm support for the APC.

“Everywhere the delegation went, the message remained consistent: appreciation to the APC for selecting a humble, compassionate and humanitarian son of the soil whose years of dedicated public service have earned him the respect and admiration of the people,” the statement said.

One of the major highlights, according to the Forum, was the royal reception at Biu Emirate, the maternal home of Hon. Ali Abdullahi Isa.

The Emir of Biu, during the visit, affirmed that Hon. Ali Abdullahi Isa “is indeed a true son of the soil.”
He further testified that the candidate’s father, Mallam Abdullahi Alkali Isa Miringa, “is a highly respected elder statesman whose integrity, wisdom and selfless contributions to public service have earned him lasting honour throughout Biu Emirate and Borno State.”

The Forum said the receptions witnessed during the tour were “genuine expressions of the people’s confidence in the character, humility and humanitarian disposition of Hon. Ali Abdullahi Isa, whose decades of public service have touched countless lives across Borno State.”

It noted that Abdullahi Isa began his career as an Audit Assistant in 1991 and rose to serve as Chief Administrative Officer (Audit), Assistant Director of Administration at the Government House, Director of Research and Statistics at the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and Acting Director General of SEMA.

“Throughout the most challenging periods of insurgency and humanitarian crises, he played critical roles in coordinating relief interventions, supporting internally displaced persons, and assisting vulnerable communities across the state,” the statement added.

The Forum also highlighted that Abdullahi Isa hails from the respected Miringa family of Biu, “a family renowned for producing distinguished public servants, administrators, scholars and community leaders.”

It commended the APC for a decision it said “has resonated positively with the people of Southern Borno,” adding that the support demonstrated during the tour “has strengthened the confidence of the people in the party and further consolidated the spirit of inclusion, unity and shared purpose across the region.”

The SBCC expressed appreciation to Emirs, District Heads, Local Government Councils, traditional institutions, religious leaders, women, youths, students, community associations, APC stakeholders and the people of Southern Borno for their hospitality during the tour.

“As the political journey towards 2027 continues, the Forum remains confident that the partnership of Engr. Mustapha Gubio and Hon. Ali Abdullahi Isa represents a combination of visionary leadership, administrative experience, humanitarian service and grassroots connection capable of advancing the peace, unity and sustainable development of Borno State,” the statement concluded.
