The Sokoto police has apprehended groups of notorious armed robbery and bandits gang which had been terrorizing innocent citizens of the state over a period of time.
Commissioner of police, Sokoto command Ali Kiyagama who stated this at the headquartered said the notorious robbery and banditry gangs were arrested by his men at their hideout.
COMPOL Kiyagama stated further that investigations has revealed the criminal gangs involvement in banditry, robbery and other criminalities across the state.
The Sokoto police Boss therefore called on the general public to continue to give useful and verifiable information to the police to enable the command reduce all forms of crime in the state.
He therefore assured the people of the state that the command will continue to protect lives and properties across the state as it has been the practice of the command over the years.
According to COMPOL Ali Kiyagama, the criminal group gang had made confessional statement that led to the recovery of various weapons and items used by the criminals at different locations across the state and environs.
Police investigations further revealed that the gang had operated in various LGAs across the state and been on wanted list for some time before the arrest.
He urged the general public to create awareness and be very vigilant on criminal movements within their communities and homes to expose all forms of criminalities within their domain.
