Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, ahead of the two-day meeting of the North-East Governors’ Forum (NEGF).
Governor Inuwa Yahaya was received at the Maiduguri Airport by his Borno State counterpart and Chairman of the North-East Governors’ Forum, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, alongside other senior government officials.
The rotational meeting will bring together the six governors of the North-East to deliberate on critical issues affecting the region and explore coordinated and sustainable solutions to its shared challenges.
The forum is expected to focus on key areas of regional development, including security, infrastructure, economic development, education, healthcare, agriculture, environmental sustainability and human capital development.
The governors are also expected to receive presentations from relevant government agencies, development partners and other stakeholders as they seek to strengthen regional collaboration and improve the wellbeing and prosperity of people across the North-East.
A communiqué is expected at the end of the meeting, outlining key decisions, resolutions and areas of collective action agreed upon by the governors.
