Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to uphold unity, peaceful coexistence and shared sacrifice as the nation marks the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration amid ongoing reforms by the Tinubu administration.
In his Sallah message, Shettima said the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir—faith, obedience, sacrifice and compassion—remain critical to Nigeria’s journey toward peace, stability and inclusive development.
Describing the season as a time for sober reflection and support for the less privileged, the Vice President stressed that national unity must rise above ethnic, religious and political differences.
“What binds us together supersedes whatever divides us,” he declared, calling on citizens to strengthen tolerance and brotherhood for the nation’s collective prosperity.
Shettima acknowledged the economic and security challenges facing the country but assured Nigerians that the Federal Government remains committed to restoring peace, stabilising the economy, creating jobs and expanding opportunities nationwide.
According to him, the ongoing reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are necessary steps toward rebuilding a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria, even though they demand patience and sacrifice from citizens.
The Vice President also praised the sacrifices of the armed forces and security agencies in tackling insecurity across the country.
“No matter how long the night may seem, dawn will surely come. Nigeria is steadily advancing on the path of peace, recovery and sustainable development,” Shettima assured Nigerians.
