Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, representing Katsina Central Senatorial District, has expressed happiness over the defection of former Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa, from the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Senator Yar’adua described Dr. Inuwa’s decision as a “welcome development” and a boost to the APC in Katsina State.
“I warmly welcome my elder brother, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa, back to the APC family. His return is a clear testament to the people’s confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dikko Umaru Radda. Dr. Inuwa is a grassroots politician with vast experience, and his coming will further strengthen our party ahead of future elections.”
The Senator noted that Dr. Inuwa’s political structure and influence not only in Katsina Central but the state at large will add value to the APC and help in consolidating the gains of the Radda administration at the grassroots.
Senator Yar’adua urged party members to embrace Dr. Inuwa and other new entrants, stressing that the APC remains open to all well-meaning individuals who are ready to contribute to the development of Katsina State and Nigeria.
Dr. Mustapha Inuwa served as SSG under the administration of former Governor Aminu Bello Masari and was a chieftain of the ADC before his defection to the APC.
The defection is expected to reshape political calculations in Katsina Central ahead of 2027.
