Senator Ndume’s Bold Initiative Benefits Over a Thousand Women in Borno South

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno south and serving as Senate Majority Whip has launched a significant empowerment drive, distributing items to 1,010 women across the nine local government areas in Borno South.

The diverse array of empowerment items includes sewing machines, grinding machines, refrigerators, gas cookers, tricycles, and cash palliatives

Demonstrating his commitment to fostering self-reliance in an area affected by insurgency, Senator Ndume has also extended support to orphans through cash palliatives, clothing, and educational materials via a humanitarian foundation MOWEI.

In his address, Senator Ndume urged the women to utilize the empowerment items for their intended purpose, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship and farming. Represented by Hajia Maryam Ali Ndume, the lawmaker assured continuous support and expressed gratitude to Professor Babagana Umara Zullum for his substantial investment in women’s development.

The lawmaker has also praised the women for their active involvement in the Ndume Sustainable Farming System (NSFS) currently underway in the zone, emphasizing its potential to improve the economic and social status of women in the area.

Speaking at the event, Hajia Maimuna Usman Kadafur, the wife of the state deputy governor, represented by Hajia Kulu Sule, praised Senator Ndume for his focus on the empowerment of women. Acknowledging the significance of gender-centric initiatives, she highlighted the positive impact such programs have on the overall development of the Borno south.

The event witnessed the presence of notable figures including the chairman of Biu, the secretary of Biu Local Government, the APC deputy state women leader, APC secretary Biu, Ndume’s aides, youth leaders, and various personalities.
