BASG, FRSC Partners For Roads Worthiness, Saving Commuters Lives

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP)  administration in Bauchi has reiterated it’s commiment construct more bypass roads across the metropolitan cities and towns of the state in order to enhance free flow of traffic.

To this end, the State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed called for active collaboration with the State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to reduce road crashes, traffic violations and hold-ups to the barest minimum.

The Governor spoke tuesday while receiving the Course Two participants of the FRSC Command and Staff College, Udi in Enugu who were on study tour to Bauchi state.

Senator Bala Mohammed told the course participants led by the Commandant of FRSC Staff College, Assistant Corps Marshall Chidi-Ebere Akwanta that Bauchi state government would strengthen it’s cooperation with the corps in reducing crashes and saving lives of the citizenry.

The Governor, while expressing concern over the spate of crashes on highways in parts of the state, noted with delight that the collaboration between operators of the FRSC and the the State Road Traffic Management Agency (BAROTA) would ensure the safety of road users.

Under the perceivesd arrangement, the governor explained, personnel of the two agencies would actively work together to control illegal business operations, which he noted, often cause difficulties for motorists passing through busy weekly markets in parts of the state.

Governor Bala Mohammed assured the corps chiefs of his administration’s commitment to provide the necessary logistic support that would facilitate the smooth collaboration of BAROTA and FRSC operators in the state.

According to him, the state government under his able leadership, has executed various projects particularly road networks to address the poor state of roads, especially in the 20 Local Government Areas, stressing that the partnership FRSC will continue in addressing traffic challenges across the state, and even beyond.

The FRSC Command and Staff College Commandant, ACM Chidi-Ebere has earlier assured that the corps will continue to work with the state government to ensure road users safety while developing new strategies aimed at minimizing congestion, collisions, among others

ACM Chidi-Ebere explainedt that the choice of Bauchi state for the study tour was deliberate in recognition of the Governor’s huge investment in road network and execution of developmental projects to meet the needs and aspirations of the people
