Philanthropist and seasoned administrator, Dr. Abdulaziz Samaila Satumari, has declared his intention to run for the House of Representatives, promising to combine his “grassroots touch” with a world-class professional pedigree.
Satumari, the Yeriman Uba, told supporters in Borno South that his intention to go pick the APC House of Reps ticket is the beginning of a mission aimed at providing the kind of “exceptional service delivery” that his 26-year career in finance has been built upon. His academic journey, which began at
Dille Central Primary School, recently culminated in a PhD in Accounting from Veritas University.
“I have spent my life learning how to manage resources for the success of organizations; now I want to do it for my people,” Satumari said.
His profile includes an M.Sc. in Finance from the College de Paris and fellowships with the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA) and the American Academy of Project Management.
A veteran of the APC’s internal structures, Satumari has served on the Accreditation of Diplomats and Observers Committee and the Planning and Strategic Committee for the party.
Supporters note that his expertise in SME Tax Compliance and Operational Efficiency of Banks makes him uniquely qualified to advocate for the economic revitalization of the Hawul and Askira-Uba local government areas.
In the last election, the Borno-born politician gave up his APC primary lead to a party-preferred candidate. That move proved costly, as the candidate’s loss at the general polls ended the APC’s long-standing hold on the seat. Many political analysts believe the return of Satumari would help the party fully reclaim its lost seat come 2023.
