In a ceremony steeped in tradition, symbolism, and cultural pride, the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, on Saturday turbaned Muhammadu Dikko Radda as the Gwagwaren Katsina II and officially installed him as the District Head of the newly created Radda District in Charanchi Local Government Area.
The historic event, held at the revered Katsina Emir’s Palace on May 2, 2026, drew a large gathering of traditional rulers, political heavyweights, government officials, and enthusiastic well-wishers from across Katsina State and beyond.
The colourful ceremony reflected the enduring relevance of the traditional institution in governance and community leadership, as the emirate reaffirmed its role in fostering unity, continuity, and grassroots administration.
Dressed in regal attire befitting the occasion, the newly turbaned district head, Radda, was adorned with the traditional symbols of authority, marking his formal assumption of responsibilities over the Radda District.
The title Gwagwaren Katsina II carries deep historical significance, symbolizing trust, service, and loyalty to the emirate.
