Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, on Friday joined a host of dignitaries at the iconic Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna for the Wedding Fatiha of Ibrahim Ibrahim Danfuloti and Zainab Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar (Mairago), daughter of the Chairman of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

The solemn ceremony, held shortly after Jumu’at prayers, attracted prominent political leaders, traditional figures, Islamic scholars and government officials from across the country.

In a symbolic display of unity and support, Governor Radda served as the Wakili (representative) of the groom, while Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, stood as the Waliyyi (guardian) of the bride, Zainab Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar.

The marriage was officiated according to Islamic rites by the Chief Imam of Sultan Bello Mosque, Professor Suleiman Muhammad, who pronounced the union after a dowry of ₦500,000 was agreed upon by both families.

The event drew an array of distinguished personalities, including former Kaduna State Governor, Col. Dangiwa Umar (rtd); Minister of Environment, Alhaji Balarabe Abbas Lawal; and the National Coordinator of AUDA-NEPAD, Jabiru Tsauri.

Renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmed Abubakar Gumi, was also in attendance alongside senior government officials, traditional rulers, family members and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the union.

The colourful ceremony further underscored the enduring role of family, faith and leadership in strengthening social bonds and fostering unity among Nigeria’s diverse communities.
