Radda Reports Revenue Boom, Unveils ₦682bn Katsina 2025 Budget

Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, has announced a remarkable revenue performance of 73% for the past year, attributing the success to innovative collection strategies.

Presenting the 2025 budget estimate of over ₦682 billion to the State House of Assembly, the governor highlighted key drivers, including the introduction of new revenue windows, the Treasury Single Account (TSA), and proactive revenue investigations.

Governor Radda also noted a zero-tolerance approach to revenue leakages and ensured accountability in returns, leading to record-breaking accruals of ₦181.348 billion from Aids, Grants, and Capital Development components—a first in Katsina’s history.

The revenue boost enabled the state to achieve a 66.4% expenditure performance, funding impactful projects in education, urban renewal, pensions, and social services. The administration has committed to clearing all state liabilities by December 2024 and local government liabilities by July 2025.

Governor Radda also emphasized heavy investment in foreign scholarships to produce much-needed doctors and specialists for Katsina. “Our achievements reflect our commitment to the well-being of the common man,” he remarked.
