President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni CON, as Deputy Director-General, North, of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for his 2027 re-election campaign.
In a press statement signed by Yusuf Ali Focal person digital and strategic communication said, The appointment places Governor Buni among the key national political leaders entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating the campaign and mobilising support across the Northern region for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Governor Buni will serve alongside Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, who have also been assigned strategic responsibilities as Deputy Director-Generals of the campaign council.
President Tinubu’s decision to entrust Governor Buni with such a strategic responsibility reflects confidence in his political experience, organisational capacity and deep understanding of grassroots mobilisation.
Gov. Buni currently served as Chairman APC Presidential Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation Committee, where he is playing a major role in stabilising and strengthening the party.
His experience in managing the party’s structures at the national level makes him particularly suited for the demanding task of coordinating political mobilisation across the North.
As Deputy Director-General, North, Governor Buni will be at the forefront of the APC’s efforts to consolidate support for President Tinubu across the Northern states.
His role will involve working with party leaders, governors, stakeholders and grassroots structures to effectively communicate the achievements of the Tinubu administration and mobilise voters behind the Renewed Hope Agenda.
With his extensive political networks and experience in party organisation, Buni is expected to play a pivotal role in building a formidable northern coalition for the President’s 2027 re-election.
