The Katsina State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Daura, particularly in the area of emergency response and support for accident victims.
The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Ali Umar Fage, psc(+), mnips, made the commitment on Monday when he received the Medical Director of FMC Daura, Dr Umar Faruk Abdulmajid, who paid a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Katsina.
The meeting was aimed at consolidating the existing relationship between the police command and the medical centre and exploring ways to improve cooperation in delivering critical services to residents.
During the visit, Dr Abdulmajid commended the Katsina Police Command for its continued support to the medical centre, especially the swift intervention of police personnel during road traffic accidents.
He noted that police officers’ prompt response in rescuing and transporting accident victims to FMC Daura has contributed significantly to improving emergency care and saving lives.
The Medical Director expressed appreciation to the command for maintaining a strong working relationship with the hospital, stressing that effective cooperation between security agencies and healthcare institutions remains vital during emergencies.
Responding, CP Fage welcomed the FMC Daura delegation and praised the management and staff of the medical centre for their dedication to providing healthcare services to the people.
The Commissioner assured the delegation that the police command would continue to provide the necessary operational support to the medical facility whenever required.
According to him, stronger cooperation between the police and healthcare providers is crucial to creating a society where citizens can enjoy not only security but also timely access to emergency medical services.
CP Fage stressed that security agencies and healthcare institutions have complementary responsibilities, particularly during road crashes, disasters and other emergencies where rapid intervention can make the difference between life and death.
The visit ended with the signing of the Command’s Visitors’ Register and the presentation of a commemorative plaque to the Medical Director.
The engagement further underscored the commitment of both institutions to sustaining a partnership focused on emergency response, public safety and improved service delivery across Katsina State.
