The Nigerian police force in collaboration with Vigilante group otherwise known as Askarawa have arrested a Bandit informant, Bashir Bature Kaura, who coordinated terrorising and kidnapping of residents in Kaura and Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.
Jamilu who lives in the mixed of the residend was working with Dogo Idi, a notorious bandits kingpin to coordinate attacks in his community.
He recently coordinated the kidnapping of a Branch Manager of TAJ Bank. The Bank Manager was released on May 21, after paying an undisclosed amount of ransom.
The arrest of the informer point to the fact that banditry and terrorism had persisted due to the support they are getting from locals and faceless informants.
