The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State has suspended two of its governorship aspirants, Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki and Usman Aliyu Garry, over alleged anti-party activities.
The party announced the suspension in a press release dated September 30, 2026, signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku.
According to the statement, the decision followed an emergency joint meeting between the PDP State Working Committee and ward executives of Dawaki and Herwagana, where the two aspirants are members.
The party said the actions of the two aspirants, despite their participation in the recently conducted governorship primary election, amounted to what it described as gross misconduct and violation of the party’s constitution.
The PDP further alleged that the actions could cause division and confusion among party members.
The statement specifically cited comments attributed to Hon. Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki during an interview with journalists, in which he declared himself the winner of the PDP governorship primary election held on September 29, 2026.
The party consequently suspended both aspirants for one month and referred the matter to its Disciplinary Committee for further action.
