PCRC Commissions New Facility at Akwa Ibom Police Command, Commends CP Azare’s Leadership

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening community policing in Akwa Ibom State with the commissioning of a newly constructed sanitary facility at the State Police Command Headquarters.

The facility was inaugurated on Friday during a courtesy visit by the PCRC National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, alongside the Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the committee, Pastor Ezekiel Umoh, to the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare.

The visit focused on deepening collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the PCRC to enhance community engagement, improve crime prevention strategies, and strengthen public safety across the state.

Speaking during the event, Olaniyan praised CP Azare for his exemplary leadership, professionalism, and commitment to building strong partnerships with communities and key stakeholders. He described the collaboration between the Police and the PCRC as vital to sustaining effective community policing and maintaining security.

The newly commissioned sanitary facility, donated by the PCRC, is expected to improve hygiene and welfare for police personnel while providing a more comfortable environment for residents seeking services at the Command Headquarters.

Responding, CP Azare expressed appreciation to the PCRC for its consistent support, describing the donation as a clear demonstration of the committee’s commitment to improving the welfare of officers and enhancing public service delivery.

The Commissioner reiterated the Command’s resolve to sustain professional, intelligence-led, and people-centred policing, stressing that lasting peace and security can only be achieved through continuous collaboration between the Police, the PCRC, and other critical stakeholders.

He assured residents that the Akwa Ibom State Police Command would continue to strengthen strategic partnerships aimed at improving public confidence in policing and ensuring a safer environment for all.
