Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS) has matriculated 517 students for the 2025/2026 academic session, rolling out a tough stance against examination malpractice, cultism, and drug abuse.
At the university’s 4th matriculation ceremony in Kalambaina, the Vice-Chancellor warned that offenders would face immediate expulsion and possible prosecution, declaring zero tolerance for social vices.
He described admission into the institution as a “passport to a new life,” urging students to embrace discipline, academic excellence, and strict adherence to regulations.
The VC highlighted the university’s “3-H philosophy”—Head, Heart, and Hand—as a model for producing intellectually sound, morally upright, and entrepreneurial graduates.
He also credited the vision of founder Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for expanding access to higher education, citing improvements in infrastructure, student welfare, and power supply.
In his remarks, Chairman of the occasion, Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, charged the new students to uphold integrity, discipline, and resilience, stressing that university education goes beyond certificates to shaping character and societal impact.
The ceremony climaxed with the administration of the matriculation oath, formally inducting the students into the university’s academic community.
