The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intensified efforts to secure schools and examination centres in Katsina State, as Commandant AD Moriki led a series of strategic engagements and operations.
During a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Yusuf Suleiman Jibia, the Commandant stressed the need for stronger collaboration to safeguard students and school infrastructure amid rising security concerns.
Both parties pledged deeper synergy, with the Commissioner commending NSCDC’s role in protecting educational institutions and reaffirming the state government’s commitment to implementing safe school policies.
In a parallel move, Moriki led an assessment tour of ongoing Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME centres across the state, where he applauded the smooth conduct of examinations while urging heightened vigilance.
The Commandant also boosted operational capacity by distributing advanced gadgets and equipment—provided by the Corps leadership—to personnel across key locations, including flashpoints in the Sharan Daji axis.
The initiative, backed by Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi, is expected to enhance rapid response and improve overall security operations in the state.
The move signals a renewed push by NSCDC to tighten security around schools and public institutions while leveraging technology to combat emerging threats.
