The Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum has condoled with the people of Jigawa and Zamfara states over the deaths of the Emir of Gumel, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Sani II, and the Emir of Zurmi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Bello Sulaiman.
The Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, described the death of the Emir of Gumel as a profound loss to Jigawa State, northern Nigeria and the country.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the late Emir was a respected traditional ruler whose reign was characterised by wisdom, humility, peace-building and commitment to the welfare and development of his people.
He noted that the late royal father contributed significantly to the stability, unity and progress of the Gumel Emirate, leaving behind a legacy that would continue to inspire future generations.
In a condolence message issued on behalf of the Northern Governors, Governor Inuwa Yahaya commiserated with the royal family, the people of Gumel Emirate, the Jigawa State Government and the entire people of the state.
He urged the family and people of the emirate to take solace in the late Emir’s legacy of peace, unity, service and community development.
Similarly, the NNGF Chairman expressed condolences over the death of the Emir of Zurmi, Alhaji Bello Sulaiman, describing him as a respected custodian of tradition and a committed leader.
He said the late Emir devoted his five-year reign to promoting peace, unity and the wellbeing of his subjects.
According to him, his death is a significant loss to the Zurmi Emirate, Zamfara State and the traditional institution in northern Nigeria.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya commiserated with the royal family, the people of Zurmi Emirate and the Zamfara State Government, urging them to draw strength from the positive impact and enduring legacy of the deceased.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of both traditional rulers, accept their good deeds and grant them Aljannatul Firdaus.
