NNGF Chairman Hails Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar’s Contributions to Peace and National Unity

Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NNGF), Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, CFR, on his 70th birthday.

In a statement issued by the Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the Sultan as an eminent symbol of peace, unity and national cohesion.

The Governor, who spoke on behalf of the 19 Northern Governors, said the Sultan’s nearly two decades of leadership had made a profound impact on the Muslim Ummah and the Nigerian nation.

He commended Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar for his exemplary leadership and sustained efforts towards promoting peaceful coexistence, religious tolerance, interfaith understanding and unity across the country.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya noted that the Sultan had consistently used his position and influence to foster harmony within the Muslim Ummah while reaching across religious, ethnic and social divides to promote mutual understanding and national cohesion.

He said the Sultan’s commitment to peace and harmony had made him an important voice in national affairs, contributing to efforts aimed at strengthening good governance, stability and development.

The NNGF Chairman also appreciated the Sultan’s invaluable counsel and steadfast commitment to the peace, stability and development of Northern Nigeria.

He urged the Sultan to continue using his wisdom, moral authority and influence to advance peace, unity and progress across the Sokoto Caliphate, Northern Nigeria and the country.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who holds the traditional title of Dan Amanan Daular Usmaniyya, prayed Almighty Allah to grant the Sultan many more years in good health, wisdom and strength to continue his service to the Muslim Ummah, Nigeria and humanity.
