Ndume Fires Back: “I’m No Ignorant Northerner”

Katsina state government

Senator Ali Ndume, a seasoned politician and former educator, has clapped back at critics questioning his stance on the controversial tax reforms bill. Addressing allegations of ignorance, Ndume set the record straight, emphasizing his extensive academic and professional background.

“I’m 65 years old, schooled in both Nigeria and America. I taught in polytechnics for 20 years before venturing into politics,” he declared.

The senator, who hails from Borno State, dismissed stereotypes tied to his traditional attire and northern roots. “Because I wear Agbada and come from Borno, some people call me ignorant. But my daughters are married to Yoruba men, and I embrace unity in diversity.”
