A commissioning from President of the set Chukwuemeka Njoku Ph.D Presentation of the Legacy Project Management of Federal Government College Kaduna, distinguished members of staff, our beloved teachers, fellow alumni of the FGCK Class of 2001, members of the Legacy Project Committee, dear students, invited guests, ladies and gentlemen, good morning. It is with immense enjoy, gratitude, and a deep sense of fulfilment that I stand before you today on behalf of the FGCK Class of 2001 as we officially present and commission our Legacy Project to our beloved almamater.
Today is about much more than the donation of chairs. It is a celebration of gratitude, a reaffirmation of our shared values, and ademonstration of our commitment to giving back to the institution that played such asignificant role in shaping our lives. Twenty-five years ago, we walked through these same classrooms with dreams in our hearts andhopefor a brighter future.
The lessons we learnedhere extended far beyond textbooks. We were taught disciplined, resilience, integrity, excellence, and the importance of service to others. Those values have remained with us throughout our personal and professionaljourneys. As we celebrate twenty five years since our graduation, we reflected on the best way to express our appreciation to this great institution.
We agreed that our celebration would be incomplete if it focused only on reunion. We wanted to leave behind something meaningful, something that would continue to serve generations of students long after the celebrations have ended.
That desire gave birth to this Legacy Project. These chairs represent farmore than furniture. They represent opportunity. They represent comfort for learning. They represent dignity in the classroom. Above all, they represent our belief that every student deserves a conducive environment in which tolearn, grow, and succeed.
We understand that quality education flourishes in an environment that supports effective learning. By providing these chairs, we hope to contribute, in our own modest way, to improving the learning experience for both students and teachers.
To our dear students, I want you to know that this gift is an investment in your future. As you sit on these chairs, remember that those who came before you once sat where you are today. They dreamed big, worked hard, remained focused, and have gone on to be come professionals, entrepreneurs, public servants, academics, and leaders making meaningful contributions across Nigeria and around the world. We encourage you to take your studies seriously. Be disciplined. Stay curious.
Value your education, respect your teachers, and make the most of every opportunity this school provides. Your circumstances today do not determine your destination.With dedication, perseverance, and integrity, you too can attain greater heights and become worthy ambassadors of this great institution.
To my fellow classmates, I sincerely commend every one of you for your generosity, commitment, and unwavering support. We all know these are economically challenging times, yet each of you contributed willingly and sacrificially to ensure that this project be came a reality. Your contributions demonstrate not only your love for our almamater but also your shared commitment to leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.
We deeply appreciate every contribution, no matter the size, because together, we have shown that true success is measured not only by what we achieve individually but also by the positive impact we make collectively. I would like to express our profound appreciation to the Management of Federal Government College, Kaduna, members of staff, and every teacher for your warm reception and your continued dedication to nurturing future generations.
Thank you for preserving the values and standards that havemadeFederal Government College, Kaduna a centre of excellence. We are deeply grateful for your partnership and support in making today’ s presentation possible. In avery special way, I wish to recognise Prince Adewale O. Adeyanju, whose vision gave birth to this Legacy Project. Having identified the pressing needs of the school, he conceptualised a project thatwould make a meaningful and last in gimpact by improving the learning environment for both students and teachers. We are sincerely grateful for your foresight, passion, and commitment to giving back to our almamater.
Our sincere appreciation also goes to Mr Kofi Akpan, the Principal of Federal Government College, Kaduna, for providing the continuity, encouragement, and institutional support that enabled this project to become a reality. Your openness, collaboration, and unwavering commitment throughout this process made the successful execution of this project possible.
Thank you very much, Sir. Our special thanks also go to the Project Intervention Subcommittee, ablyled by Phanuella Bahago, together with Sadiq Tanimu and Nahum Maikano. Your countless hours of planning, coordination, supervision, and tireless commitment, often behind the scenes ensured that this project was delivered successfully.
Your dedication exemplifies the true spirit of service and teamwork, and we are immensely grateful for your outstanding efforts. I also extend heartfelt appreciation our classmates and guests who have travelled from different parts of Nigeria and beyond to be here today.Your presence is a testament to the enduring bond we share and your commitment to this legacy.
Thank you for making the journey and for being part of this memorable occasion. To the Legacy Project Committee and every member of the Planning Committee, thank you for your countless hours of planning, coordination, and sacrifice inensuring the success of today’s event. Your dedication, teamwork, and attention to detail have made this occasion memorable, and we deeply appreciate your outstanding service.
As we conclude this presentation, I warmly invitee everyone to join us as we continue our Silver Jubilee celebrations in Abuja, where members of the FGCK Class o f2001 will reunite for a series of activities designed to celebrate our shared journey, strengthen lifelong friendships,honour our teachers, recognise outstanding achievements, and reflection the impact we can continue to make together.
This anniversary is not simply about looking back on the past; it is about celebrating the present and building a legacy for the future. May this project inspire every graduating class to remember that, no matter how far life take sus, we always have a responsibility to return home ,give back, and help create opportunities for those who come after us.
It is therefore with great honour and immense pride that, on behalf of the FGCK Class of 2001, I officially present and commission this Legacy Project for the benefit of the students and staff of Federal Government College, Kaduna.
May these chairs serve generations of learners, and may this institution continue to produce men and women of excellence who will make meaningful contributions to our nation and the world.
