Kyari Breaks Silence Over Senate ‘Wanted’ Declaration, Demands Clarity

Borno State Government

Former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, has reacted to reports of his alleged declaration as “wanted” by the Senate, expressing surprise over the development and insisting he had duly notified the relevant committee about his medical trip abroad.

Kyari, in his response, maintained that he was not evading any parliamentary engagement, stressing that the Senate had been informed in advance of his ongoing medical treatment outside the country.

The development has sparked fresh questions over procedure and communication gaps between the legislative chamber and the former NNPCL boss.

Observers are now asking critical questions: if the Senate was formally notified of Kyari’s whereabouts, what informed the “wanted” declaration? And if no such notification was received, where is the documented evidence of communication?

The situation has intensified calls for transparency from both sides, as Nigerians demand clearer explanations to avoid further public confusion over the high-profile dispute.
