Keep Abreast With Govt Policy Thrust To Implement Policies & Programmes, Gov Bala Charge New Commissioners

Governor Bala Mohammed has enjoined the state newly appointed commissioners to acquaint themselves with the police thrust of the government that could guide them towards the successful implementation of government policies and programme’s to meet the needs and aspirations of the electorates.

It is for this reason, the governor said, that their selection as members of the State Executive Council did not compromised merit, as it is strictly based on their track records of competent service and dedication to enhance the rapid socioeconomic and political development of the state.

The Governor while swearing-in the new commissioners at a colourful ceremony held at the Executive Council Chamber of the Government House, also charged them
to work closely and harmoniously with their permanent secretaries, accounting staff, and other staff of their respective ministries towards the realization of the set objectives of their various ministries

According to him, the commissioners must know that their conducts and actions would be godly monitored by members of the public and other public functionaries, emphasizing that any short coming on their part will be considered as a shortcoming to the government.

Senator Bala Mohammed also urged them to live above board and shun acts that are capable of bringing down the government or to disrepute, stressing that his administration attaches great importance to probity, accountability and adherence to due process.

Governor Bala admonished the new commisioners to judiciously handle the financies and responsibilities of their ministries, and not to be tempted to misappropriate or divert funds that would be put under their care.

He recalled that since the advent of the present administration, government has invested heavily in infrastructural development and the provision of aminoties and upgrading of services.

He explained that the new appointments followed the resignation of some political appointees who expressed interest in contesting elective positions in the 2027 general elections, in compliance with relevant legal provisions, urged the commissioners to familiarise themselves with government policies and work closely with permanent secretaries and other civil servants to achieve the objectives of their respective ministries.

Senator Bala Mohammed reiterated the achievements of his administration since 2019, which include investments in road construction, education, healthcare, water supply, security, youth empowerment, and skills development.

While noting that the efforts have contributed to positioning Bauchi among the leading states in development and one of the safest states in Nigeria, the governor urged the new appointees to bring the attributes accountability, transparency and probity into play in the discharge of their duties of the new offices, as well as

Governor Bala the cabinet changes as Madaki Ahmed Gololo assigned to the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives; Bashir Yau to Youth and Sports Development; Bashir Adamu Rishi to Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management; and Baraya Ibrahim to Commerce, Industry and Investment.

Mohammed similarly announced the redeployment of Adamu Babayo Gabarin to Culture and Tourism; Abdul Hassan to Rural Development and Special Duties; and Muhammad Hamisu Shira to Finance and Economic Development. Hassan Eliyakub and Usman Usman will continue supervising the Ministries of Local Government and Water Resources respectively.

One of the newly appointed commissioners, Baraya Ibrahim who responded on behalf of the new enterants, appreciated Governor Bala for the confidence reposed in them and pledged their loyalty and commitment to supporting the administration’s development agenda.

Alh Baraya Ibrahim assured that the commissioners would work collectively to promote transparency, accountability, and effective implementation of government programmes, while seeking the cooperation and support of the people of Bauchi State.
