The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has officially concluded the 2026 Hajj exercise and commenced the collection of deposits for the 2027 pilgrimage, urging intending pilgrims to begin preparations early.
Speaking at the close of the 2026 Hajj operations at the agency’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday, the Executive Chairman, Alhaji Faruk Enagbo, announced that the agency has started receiving a ₦5 million initial deposit from prospective pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj.
Enagbo said preparations for the next pilgrimage have already begun due to the limited timeline set for Hajj planning, calling on interested residents to make their payments promptly through the agency’s designated bank account.
He cautioned intending pilgrims against dealing with unauthorised individuals posing as officials of the agency, stressing that all payments and registrations should be conducted only through approved channels.
The chairman commended the Kebbi State Government for its unwavering support, noting that the timely assistance provided by the administration contributed significantly to the smooth and successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
According to him, more than 4,200 pilgrims from Kebbi State successfully performed this year’s Hajj without violating the rules and regulations of the Saudi Arabian authorities or the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
He disclosed that only one pilgrim remained in Makkah due to health challenges, expressing optimism that the individual would return home after receiving appropriate medical care.
The event also featured the presentation of awards to outstanding staff, committees and individuals whose dedication and exceptional service contributed to the success of the 2026 Hajj operations.
The agency expressed confidence that the early commencement of the 2027 registration process would ensure better planning and a hitch-free pilgrimage for intending pilgrims from Kebbi State.
