Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, on Monday conducted an unscheduled inspection visit to the Kafin Soli Water Plant Booster Station, a major facility under the ongoing ₦31.8 billion Zobe Water Supply Project (Phase 1B).
The Governor made the stopover while returning from Kano to Katsina, using the opportunity to assess the pace and quality of work at the strategic water infrastructure site.
During the visit, Governor Radda was conducted round the facility by the Project Manager of Mutual Construction Company (MCC), who briefed him on the progress made and the operational significance of the booster station within the wider water distribution network.
The Kafin Soli Booster Station is a critical hub in the Zobe water scheme, designed to enhance the transmission of treated water across several local government areas, including Dutsin-Ma, Kankia, Charanchi, Rimi, Batagarawa, Kurfi, and Katsina metropolis.
The project also extends water access to numerous communities such as Kankia, Tafashiya, Charanchi, Yan’albasa, and surrounding settlements, aiming to significantly improve potable water supply across the region.
A key highlight of the inspection was the Governor’s observation of newly arrived high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes at the Kafin Soli yard, materials essential for advancing pipeline installation under Phase 1B of the project.
The initiative is part of the Radda administration’s broader commitment to expanding access to clean water, strengthening infrastructure, and improving living standards across Katsina State.
Governor Radda was accompanied on the inspection by his Chief of Staff, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, and other senior government officials.
