The Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, has called on Special Assistants on New Media serving under the Argungu Emirate to close ranks and intensify efforts to publicise the policies, programmes and achievements of Governor Nasir Idris’ administration.
The Commissioner made the call while addressing the New Media aides at the Argungu Local Government Secretariat in Kebbi State.
Yakubu urged the aides to prioritise teamwork, unity and professional collaboration, saying a coordinated media team would be better positioned to communicate government programmes and achievements effectively to citizens.
He noted that stronger cooperation among the New Media personnel would help increase the visibility of the administration’s accomplishments over the past three years.
The Commissioner commended the aides for their role in promoting government activities, acknowledging their contribution to keeping residents informed about various initiatives of the Idris administration.
He, however, urged them to sustain the momentum by remaining proactive, professional and accurate in their use of social media and other digital platforms.
Yakubu stressed that information dissemination must be handled responsibly, urging the aides to ensure that government policies and programmes are communicated clearly and without distortion.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to Governor Idris on New Media, Aliyu Bandado, urged the Special Assistants to remain committed to supporting the administration through strategic communication and effective utilisation of social media platforms.
Bandado said the governor had consistently recognised the growing importance of social media as a powerful tool for modern governance and public engagement.
According to him, the dedication of the New Media team has contributed significantly to taking the administration’s activities and achievements to a wider audience.
He called for continued support and empowerment of the New Media team, arguing that providing the necessary tools and encouragement would enable the aides to deliver more effectively.
The meeting underscored the administration’s renewed emphasis on digital communication as a means of connecting government with the people and projecting its activities across Kebbi and beyond.
