A wave of empowerment swept through Kebbi State as Governor Nasir Nasir Idris unveiled a ₦100 million support package for women-focused initiatives, pledging sustained programmes to uplift livelihoods across the state.

The announcement came amid a massive gathering at Haliru Abdu Stadium, where thousands of women under the umbrella of the Mugudu Tare, Mu Tsira Tare Foundation converged for the launch of a large-scale empowerment drive targeting no fewer than 100,000 beneficiaries.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Governor Idris praised the role of women as vital partners in governance and development, highlighting their loyalty, resilience, and contributions to the progress recorded since he assumed office.

He stressed that his administration remains people-oriented, noting that government has a duty to support collective efforts that promote self-reliance and community growth.

“In supporting this noble cause, Kebbi State will not be left behind,” the governor declared, announcing the ₦100 million donation to boost the initiative.

The event, spearheaded by the First Lady, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, was marked by strong messages of unity and social development. Speaking on behalf of the women groups, Hajiya Salma Farisa lauded the governor’s consistent support, describing him as a compassionate leader whose policies have positively transformed the lives of women across Kebbi.

With renewed assurances of transparency, accountability, and continued partnership, the initiative signals a major push toward inclusive development—placing women at the heart of Kebbi’s growth agenda.
