The Katsina State Police Command thwarted kidnapping and cattle rustling attempts, demonstrating unwavering dedication to maintaining internal security.
On the night of May 8th, 2024, a dramatic rescue unfolded at Unguwar Boka village, Faskari LGA, along the Funtua-Gusau road. Bandits ambushed a Golf III motor vehicle, intending to abduct its occupants.
However, the police’s rapid response team, led by DPO Faskari, engaged the criminals in a fierce gun battle, rescuing the three passengers unharmed.
Despite the bandits fleeing, investigations are underway to bring them to justice.
Continuing their vigilance, in the early hours of May 9th, 2024, the command received a distress call from Gidan-Maga village, Malumfashi LGA. Armed bandits had attacked, kidnapping ten residents and rustling sixteen cows.
Swift action by the Malumfashi divisional headquarters led to a daring confrontation, resulting in the rescue of all hostages and the recovery of the stolen animals.
The bandits escaped with gunshot wounds, but the police remain relentless in their pursuit.
