In a remarkable show of valor, the Katsina State Police Command, backed by the Nigerian Military, local vigilantes, and the state community watch corps, thwarted coordinated attacks by armed bandits on three neighborhoods in Jibia Township late last night.
At 9:15 pm, the assailants targeted Ka’ida, Unguwar One Boy, and Danmarke quarters, but swift action from a joint security team led by the Jibia DPO drove the attackers back in a fierce, hour-long firefight.
The superior tactics and firepower of the security forces forced the bandits into retreat, rescuing 16 victims in the process.
Tragically, five individuals sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed for medical treatment, while a community watch corps member and a vigilante lost their lives in the battle.
Katsina Police Commissioner Aliyu Abubakar Musa commended the bravery of the security team and pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice.
He urged the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities, assuring Katsina’s residents of the command’s unwavering commitment to public safety.
