Marking his first year in office, Comrade Sani Usman Kofar Sauri, Chairman of the National Association of Persons with Physical Challenges in Katsina State, has outlined significant milestones achieved under his leadership.
At a ceremony in Katsina, Comrade Sauri highlighted the securing of 20 bicycles for members through Abdullahi Foundation in September 2023.
He also mentioned the Association’s successful visits to the Special Assistant to the Katsina State Governor on Youth Employment and Development, and their efforts in obtaining employment slots for members in the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Police.
Sauri proudly detailed collaborations with Murna Foundation, the provision of 70 bicycles and 5 crutches by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), as well as securing food supplies from the Katsina State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
In addition to local achievements, Sauri emphasized establishing ties with NGOs in Kano to broaden support for persons with disabilities.
During her remarks, Comrade Hadiza Saulwa urged people with disabilities to remain self-reliant and reject offers that lure them abroad for work.
The event was attended by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Disabled Youths, Women, and People Living with Disabilities, among others.
