Katsina Governor Urges Scholars: Illuminate Public with Knowledge

The Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has urged scholars in the state to use knowledge and wisdom to advance for public enlightenment, considering the diversity of ethnic and religious affiliations in the state.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr. Surajo Dalhat Abukur made this known during the opening of a one-day seminar for state scholars organized by the Katsina State Islamic Education Bureau held at the Local Government Service Commission Hall, Katsina.

Dr. Surajo Abukur reminded the scholars that they should justify the confidence reposed in them, adding that they had a task that when fulfilled, Allah would reward them abundantly.

In his remarks, the Executive Director of Katsina State Islamic Education Bureau, Salisu Abdullahi commended the efforts of scholars across the 34 Local Government Areas of the state for promoting the norms and values of Islam towards foster peace and security in society.

In his paper presentation , Professor Mahmud Abdullahi of the Department of Law at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, highlighted the implications of economic challenges and how they could hinder the preaching process.

“He encouraged scholars to put more efforts into enlightening the muslim ummah to follow the righteous path.”

Also in his paper presentation, Sheikh Munir Jafar called on scholars to emulate the teachings of Prophet Muhammad , describing him as the best scholar to have ever lived on earth both in moral conduct and character.
