Gov. Abba Kabir Mourns Late Dr. Fa’izu Baffa Yola

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir has expressed shock over the death of Dr. Faizu Baffa Yola who died today (Thursday) following an illness at the age of 74.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf noted in a mourning tone the contributions of late Dr. Fa’izu Baffa Yola towards the development of health care services delivery in the State and beyond and his penchant for helping humanity at all times.

” We received with deepest shock the news of the death of Dr. Fa’izu Baffa Yola, a reverred medical practitioner who spent most of his life-time rendering selfess service in the areas of health and other humanitarian activities

“His foot prints will remain indelible as his contributions in the development of the state and the nation as a whole would not be easily forgotten and will serve as guiding principles to those who wants to follow the right path.

” On behalf of the Government and good people of the State, I extend our heartfelt condolences to his families and people of the State, praying to Almighty Allah to grant his soul eternal rest and Jannatul Firdausi remain his final abode” prayed the Governor.

Late Dr. Fa’izu Baffa Yola was an experienced medical Doctor who was into private practice before his appointment as Commissioner of Health in Kano State during Late Colonel Muhammad Abdullahi Wase regime.

He was also appointed a Commissioner for Water Resources in Kano during the tenure of Late Brigadier General Dominic Obukadata Oneya.

He delved into partisan politics and at a one time contested Kano Central Senatorial district seat under the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC).

Survived by his wife, brothers and many relatives including former Commissioner of Rural and Community Development Dr. Mahmoud Baffa Yola, former presidential aide, Hon. Abdurraman Baffa Yola and Ismail Garba Yola, a Manager at one of the First Bank branches in Kano.

Dr. Fa’izu Baffa was the 5th indiginous medical doctor to practice in Kano and he remained in the practice of medicine and surgery till his death.
