Katsina State’s civil service has ushered in a new phase of leadership with the resumption of office of the newly appointed Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Masa’udu Almustapha Banye.
Banye formally assumed duty at the State Secretariat, where he arrived alongside directors and staff of the Ministry for Local Government and Emirate Affairs.
He was received by the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of Service, Alhaji Ado Yahaya, alongside other senior officials and members of the state workforce.
Addressing civil servants shortly after his arrival, the new Acting Head of Service called for unity, teamwork and greater cooperation among workers, stressing that a collaborative workforce was essential to improving the efficiency of the state’s public service.
Banye also pledged to prioritise the welfare of workers while pursuing reforms aimed at strengthening institutions and improving service delivery across the civil service.
He urged staff to remain committed to their duties and contribute positively to the government’s efforts to build a more effective and responsive bureaucracy.
Responding on behalf of the workforce, the Permanent Secretary assured Banye of the loyalty, cooperation and support of civil servants under the new leadership.
The brief reception ceremony concluded with goodwill messages from staff members and well-wishers, who expressed optimism that the new administration at the Office of the Head of Service would bring renewed energy and progress to the state’s civil service.
