KANO POLICE BUST INTER-STATE CAR THEFT SYNDICATE, RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLES IN INTELLIGENCE-LED OPERATION

Borno State Government

The Kano State Police Command has successfully dismantled an inter-state car theft syndicate operating across multiple states, recovering three suspected stolen vehicles in a series of coordinated intelligence-driven operations.

Police authorities confirmed the arrest of three suspects in connection with a stolen Toyota Camry reportedly traced to Enugu State, alongside the recovery of the vehicle during a targeted operation carried out by detectives.

In a related breakthrough, two additional suspected stolen vehicles were also recovered, further exposing what investigators describe as a well-organised network involved in the movement and resale of stolen automobiles across state boundaries.

Security sources disclosed that the syndicate allegedly specialised in stealing vehicles from one part of the country and transporting them across state lines to evade detection and frustrate recovery efforts.

The Command said the suspects are currently in custody and cooperating with investigators as efforts intensify to identify other members of the criminal network and uncover possible receivers of the stolen vehicles.

Police authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustained intelligence-led policing aimed at dismantling criminal syndicates operating within and outside Kano State, warning that the state remains unsafe for vehicle thieves and their collaborators.

Investigations are ongoing.
