Nigerian Police has called for an effective partnership with the media to stamp out crimes in the society.
The Divisional police officer incharge of the Kakuri police Division Superintendent of police, SP. MaiGida Isah Babu, made the call after he was conferred with a meritorious award by the Arewa publishers Forum if Nigeria.
He noted that journalists as members of the fourth Estate of the realm, have a major rope to play toward promoting peace and security in the society.
SP. MaiGida contented that through their reportage, journalists can promote unity, tolerance as well as virtue of patriotism among the citizenry.
He also thanked the Arewa publishers Forum for identifying with the efforts of the Nigerian police toward promoting sustainable peace seccur and progress in the country.
The Divisional police officer also appealed to people of Kakuri to always be security conscious and provide intelligence report to the police to enable them effectively carry out their functions
SP. Mai Gida Isah, therefore said award conferred on him by the Arewa Publishers Forum would serve as a moral booster and as service of encouragement to do more.
Presenting the award the national chairman of the forum, Dr Sani Muhammad identified the Kakuri DPO as a gallant dedicated officer who have passion for his job.
He called in other police officers to emulate SP. Mai Gida Isah, to rod the society out of crime and criminalities.
