Inferno Erupts at NNPCL Apapa Tank Farm, Lagos

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) Tank Farm on Kayode Street, Marine Beach, Apapa, was engulfed in a fierce fire on Friday.

The blaze, which broke out around 11:00 am, sent shockwaves through the area as panicked residents scrambled to safety.

Eyewitness MMrTunde has recounted the chaotic scene, noting that people rushed frantically to control the flames before emergency services arrived.

The fire, reportedly caused by a petroleum product spillage, raged uncontrollably, prompting a massive response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA).

As of the time of reporting, emergency teams were still battling the inferno.

Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, confirmed the incident, stating that a coordinated effort with other responders in the oil and gas industry was underway to contain the situation.
