Gubernatorial Aspirant contesting for All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state, Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti has assured of slagging it out today Thursday in the bid to carry the party’s flag ahead of the 2027 polls.
Dr. Bala Wunti noted with delight that the grasp for the party’s ticket is the most critical stages in the democratic process to clinch to the state’s plum seat, saying it is the collective hope, vision, and mandate of the party into the main election.
It is for this reason, Bala said, he convened a press conference Wednesday to appeal to all card-carrying APC members, stakeholders, supporters, and loyal party members across the state to come out en-masse Thursday and overwhelmingly vote for him as the party’s gubernatorial flag-bearer to the 2027 general election.
The aspirant who spoke through Bala Wunti Support Organisation (BWSO) Chief Executive Officer, Arc Mukhtar Ahmad Jarmajo at the NUJ Secretariat, Bauchi, observed that no individual can contest for the office of governor in the general election without first securing the ticket of his political party.
“We are gathered here today as a people who are concerned with the state of affairs in Bauchi State, as well as the future generations, and as representatives of the various support groups, political associates, youth organisations, women groups, community stakeholders, and admirers of Dr Bala Maijama’a Wunti,” Jarmajo said.
Jarmajo explained that Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti is the most qualified, urbane, experienced, energetic, and people-oriented aspirant among all those seeking the APC gubernatorial ticket, saying, ” It is about choosing competence over propaganda, proven capacity over empty rhetoric, service over selfish ambition, and results over promises’.
“Dr Bala Maijama’a Wunti deliberately refrained from engaging in reckless promises, political sensationalism, or empty rhetoric aimed merely at attracting public attention. Leadership is best measured by tangible impact, service to humanity, commitment to development, and the ability to improve the lives of ordinary people even without occupying elective office.”
“Dr Bala Maijama’a Wunti has distinguished himself as a man of compassion, humility, competence, and uncommon generosity. Over the years, he has consistently invested his personal resources, time, influence, and energy in uplifting the lives of thousands of people across Bauchi State and beyond.”
Arc. Mukhtar Jarmajo noted that APC requires a candidate who can unite diverse interests within its fold, bridge internal differences, and strengthen cohesion at all levels, describing Bala WUNTI as a man capable of attracting broad-based grassroots support, energising the youth population, inspiring confidence among women groups, traditional institutions, religious leaders, and community stakeholders,.
Jarmajo reminded members and stakeholders that the true strength of democracy lies not only in participation, but in peaceful, orderly, and responsible conduct, and called on all supporters of Bala Wunti across the state to remain calm, disciplined, law-abiding, and orderly throughout the primary election process scheduled for today.
