Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has ordered an investigation into allegations linking two senior police officers to the disappearance and alleged killing of Abubakar Idris, widely known as Dadiyata.
The officers named in the allegations are CSP Hussaini Gimba and CSP Hassan Gimba.
The IGP directed the Police Monitoring Unit to immediately probe the claims as fresh calls intensify for justice and accountability in the long-running Dadiyata case.
Dadiyata, a lecturer and social media commentator, disappeared under controversial circumstances years ago, sparking nationwide concern and repeated demands for a thorough investigation into his whereabouts.
Police authorities are yet to release further details on the scope of the investigation, but the latest directive signals renewed official attention on one of Nigeria’s most talked-about unresolved disappearance cases.
